By George Wagata

Nairobi continues to solidify its reputation as a financial and diplomatic powerhouse in Africa, attracting international attention with its strong financial infrastructure, global connectivity, and the presence of numerous multilateral institutions.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 58th Session of the Human Rights Council, Mudavadi emphasized Nairobi’s significance as a diplomatic epicenter, citing its high concentration of embassies, multilateral institutions, and international organizations.

This has earned the city the title of “Africa’s Peace Capital, hosting major regional summits, mediation efforts, and diplomatic engagements that shape the continent’s future.

The recent decision by the United Nations to establish a Multi-Country Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Nairobi further cements the city’s position as a global center for diplomacy and international cooperation.

Mudavadi reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to upholding dignity, justice, and fundamental freedoms, highlighting the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) as a crucial partner in advancing human rights initiatives.

He noted that despite global challenges, Kenya remains steadfast in fostering a just, inclusive, and resilient society.
